3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament for ages 8-19! 

3 Point Shot and Foul Shot for all ages 

Schedule 

10:30 am- Check- in opens 

10:45 am- 3 Point Shot and Foul Shot contest starts

11:20am Referees review rules with players 

11:30 am- 3 on 3 tournament start time

1:30 pm-2:00 pm- Food and water break, update on team standings , announce the players who have made the shot contest finals, & mention the purpose of the tournament 

3:30-5pm- Break as each division finishes to give awards 

Free food and fun for the entire family 

3 on 3 Basketball tournament 5/30/26 Rules :

• For youth 19years old and under

• Double elimination tournament with three age divisions:

o 12 yrs old and under (WE HOPE TO HAVE ENOUGH YOUNGER PLAYERS FOR A SEPARATE 10 YRS AND UNDER DIVISON THIS YEAR!)

o 13-15 yrs old

o 16-19 yrs old

• If registration is particularly large in one age division, it may be split

• Each team will be placed in the division corresponding to the age of the oldest player on the team.

• If you want to participate and don’t yet have a team, please register anyways and we will find a team for you to play on!

• PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED THIS YEAR, (space may be limited), please register by May 19th.

• Check in will start at 10:30am, and all divisions will begin play at 11:30am.

• Games are played to 15 points or 15 minutes- whichever comes first

• Free throws and regular baskets are worth 1 point. Baskets made beyond what is normally called the 3 point line will be counted as 2 points.

In general, our rules of play will be similar to the rules for “Gus Macker” 3 on 3 tournaments (https://macker.com/rules)  

Some exceptions are as followed:  

Gus Macker requires a four member team (three on the court and one substitute) – your team can be 4 members, but most teams will consist of three teammates; you can change your team roster up to the close of registration on May 19th

• If we have enough all girl teams to create a girls division we will, but otherwise the divisions will be co-ed.

• Our tournament is free, there is no registration fee. In fact, as it is Grace Baptist’s goal to bless our community, drinks and refreshments will be free to both players and spectators!

• There is no “win by 2”- which ever team reaches 15 points first or is ahead when 15 minutes is over is the winner.

• In event of rain check the church website or call (585) 335-6190 for updates as to rain delays or cancelations.

We encourage teams to sign up early!

Foul Shot and 3 Point Shot Contests Rules 5/24/25:

• Contestants in these shooting contests can register the day of tournament, and the shooting contests are open to anyone able to get the ball to the rim, including parents, coaches, & spectators as well as the 3 on 3 contestants.

• Contestants register and take their shots anytime between 10:45am and 1pm. At 1:30pm the contests who have made the finals will be announced.

·       Three-Point Shoot-Out Rules:

·       Each player will take two warm up shots.

·       Each contestant gets ten shots from behind the three-point line.

·       Players must start and end the shots behind the three point line.

·       The top 5 scores enter the shoot off at 2pm

·       Foul Shot Contest Rules:

·       Each player will take two warm-up shots.

·       The contest will take 10 shots from behind the free throw line.

·       Players must start and end the shots behind the free throw line.

·       The top 5 scores enter the shoot off at 2pm

• Prizes for each shooting contest will be given for 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, and 20 and older. The shooting contest prizes will be awarded with the 3 on 3 tournament awards at the end of the day.
